That's true - and the unseemly nepotism at work with his son shooting those same videos. OK, so they've all got flaws - I'm so disillusioned.

And why did Donna work so well in JGB? Because she could hear herself and/or wasn't competing with louder sounds?

hey BD, here's where I kind of differ from most. While Donna was certainly tolerable with JGB, I just plain don't find that she has all that great of voice. I feel bad saying it because she seems like a real sweet lady but I don't care if she sang with Elvis and whoever else, I just think she sounds kind of flat.

not differing from me on that one. her pitch control is off no matter which band she was singing in. like you said, real nice lady, but a very mediocre voice for a female singer. harmonized ok with Jerry, but put her with a "real singer" and she would sound horribly out of place

I think you nailed it, BD. On a SBD, everything sounds equal, but maybe, just maybe, trying to hear yourself sing over a roaring loud rock band, without a monitor, might, just might, result in some deafened yelling...

If you ask me, Donna was really only good with the JGB when Maria Muldaur was with her, which makes me think her main problem was laziness.
